Sofia Alvarez Reza
Psychotherapist

Psychologist.
Psychotherapist.
My name is Sofia, and I provide psychotherapeutic support and psychological care to adults, children, and adolescents. Sessions are available in person or via video call.
I hold a Master's degree in Public Health, which has helped me understand health as a historical, cultural, social, and individual process. I also hold a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy, specifically with a psychodynamic approach, which has helped me understand how emotions, thoughts, and behaviors have been woven throughout our life stories, and how what we know and don't know about ourselves propels us through life.
Accompanying people to understand themselves, process events, inhabit their bodies and give space to emotions, that is what fulfills me.
My therapeutic approach is psychodynamic, which means that we will explore the past and your inner world to identify those unresolved conflicts that influence your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.
Going to therapy isn't easy; it's about confronting yourself, taking responsibility, learning to accept yourself, and, as the icing on the cake, knowing that you're the one in charge of your own ship.
My main clinical experience has been working with depressive and anxiety disorders, eating disorders, behavioral disorders, and trauma.

In a therapeutic process you have the opportunity to learn about the different versions you have created of yourself and make peace with those that are not so pleasant to you.

When you go to therapy, you begin to see life differently, and your relationships with other people change. Sometimes they leave, and that hurts, but you won't be alone.

In therapy we will make the monsters we once saw as giants shrink and realize that perhaps they were neither monstrous nor so gigantic.
My way of working is by accompanying you; you decide the path we will walk down, and I help you illuminate it while you discover where the light is.
